The RIPPLE in us.

Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
Grateful Dead. “Ripple.” American Beauty, 1970.

If you are reading this, thank you. Our lives have intersected. A ripple has formed. Ripples have changed. You have influenced my journey.

Like a "ripple in still water", unseen forces are constantly circling us, shaping reality as we move about our everyday lives. The impact of interactions and non-interactions effecting thoughts, emotions, and relationships on the next step of our journey.

While not appreciated at this moment in time, think what the world would be like without the continuous, everlasting change. What would life be like if "[n]o pebble tossed / nor wind to blow." Would everything be black and white? Everyday the same? No movement or change.

Obviously, change won't stop. What we know won't change.  What lies ahead won't change. We will all encounter the same good and bad. Happy and sad. Superheroes and Villains. It is what you choose to do with those encounters that shape your ripple and the effect of your ripple on others. I strive to create ripples of good and happiness. And I really want to be a Superhero!  Try is all I can do. Try is all any of us can do. As long as our aligns the same: Ripples of Positive Change.

"One of the most-loved Grateful Dead songs, Ripple was one of the many standouts on American Beauty. It was played 11 times 1970-1971, and then dropped until it returned in 1980, played as the set-closing song every night during the Dead's acoustic sets. It made one final appearance on 9/3/88 in Landover, MD, before being retired for good." - David Lemieux
